“Any form of domination is a hysterical attempt to emulate God.”

Mpilo’s TAKE

This chapter powerfully dismantles the illusion of racial binaries. The author argues that “black” and “white” are not truths but social inventions used to justify hierarchy and control. What I liked most about the chapter is that it reframes race as a psychological and cultural construct rather than a biological reality. The chapter forces the reader to confront how deeply conditioned bias really is. My key takeaways are that difference does not imply inferiority, racism dehumanizes both the oppressed and the oppressor, liberation requires deconstructing mental categories, not just laws, and human unity is not an abstract ideal. Instead, it becomes possible when we abandon false binaries and recognise our shared humanity.
